Jesus Christ is the Unfailing Shepherd.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
From our Bible text we can see that the Lord was the shepherd of King David in his days as affirmed by him. David saw the Lord as the shepherd of his life who saw him through in all his troubles during his life journey.
Even though, David encountered so many difficult moments in his lifetime that could have given him the opportunity to disbelieve the Love of God for him, he made up his mind to believe in the leading of the Lord.
There was an expectation that God has the best for him knowing that God was the one leading him as his shepherd. Looking at verse 4 of Ps.23, David walked through the valley of the shadow of deaths so many different times but always hoping that his Lord has the best in store for.
David did not know the “When”, and “How” the Lord would establish the best for him. For example David was anointed to be king over Israel in 1 Sam 16. After being anointed he kept running for his own life because King Saul was after his life to kill him.
In all the difficult times he encountered in his life journey he constantly believed that the best was yet to come from the Lord. In those moments of running for safety from King Saul, and running from his own country you will believe with me that it was not easy for King David to cope with all the pains and uncertainties ahead of him, but knowing that the Lord was leading him he encouraged himself to believe that the best was on the way for him.
You may be faced with some difficulties during the period of uncertainties, or you may think that you’ve stayed too long in your present situation without the certainty of relief or peace, I want you believe that the best is yet to come your way.
Jesus said in Matt 11:28 “Come unto me all ye …and I will give you rest. Jesus Christ is with you in all your troubles and He knows how difficult and painful for you to bear but be of good cheer because the best is yet to come if only you can wait a little longer for the Lord.
The Lord has declared that for your sake He will not hold his peace until your salvation comes, “For Zion’s sake I will not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth” Isaiah 62:1.
The Lord is fighting your battles and your victory is certainly sure at the Lord’s appointed time.
Wait on the Lord, for THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
